Two benches, gingerbread shot and good guy

- Two benches keeping each other company on a rainy day at Chastain Park, Atlanta, Georgia.

- A shot-sized sample of gingerbread flavored latte with whipped cream at Starbucks - so delicious looking I couldn't resist. But I order my regular grande non-fat latte to go and continue on in the rain.

- Hearing an account of the recent benefit dinner for the mission, and the keynote speaker Jeff Foxworthy. When the dinner and speeches were over, he stayed behind and helped stack chairs.

So, I have to know...was that gingerbread latte as delicious as it sounds???

That's impressive about Jeff Foxworthy. How many famous people would do that? Not many!

On that cold rainy day
Two benches huddle close
Each to keep the other warm

Tho gingerbread late was in the way
I ordered my regular and went away

At the mission the other day
There was a Foxworthy
Who was worthy of his pay

Lynn this is for you
For reading my Blog
A big THANK YOU

Jeff Foxworthy -- now that is a classy thing to do. Makes me feel all tingly to hear about things like that. I promise when I'm all famous on Letterman and such, I'll stack chairs or something, and if the chairs are fixed to the floor, I'll dust off his desk. :)

Mr. Foxworthy is a pretty alright guy!!

And - love the view from those benches. No wonder they were put there, what a great place to stop and just take in the view...

Gorgeous shot, Lynn. What a lovely place to sit and take in that incredible view!

I'm always impressed with your will power, Lynn. :)

He seems to be a genuinely down-to-earth person. Very rare in the celebrity world!

It was - and not too sweet. Very gingery.

Most people would have gotten in their limo and split - they said he came in jeans and sport coat. Just very down to earth.

Doesn't it look as if those benches are having a chat? Thank you - I am happy you are blogging, my friend. And a big thank you to you for reading MY blog.

Jannie -

I'll bet Dave would like that. :)

The park looked so pretty in the misty rain as I drove beside it. I pulled in that driveway to the right of those benches thinking it would be some sort of access road, but there were a series of dire Keep Out and No Trespassing signs. I was a bit alarmed since there was no turning around right there, so I snapped my photo quickly and went forward - seeking a place to turn around and leave. It turned out to be an American Legion post at the end of that drive. I guess they want to keep out vandals and lovers lane people. :)

I know - so rare.

Well - I didn't resist entirely - I took the shot offered. So good. But still ordered my nonfat thing. :)

Lynn~ I like that last comment. It's rainy here too; very windy with gusts and about 48...so cold with the wind and the wetness i don't want to leave my nest! Have a great day Lynn!

Lovely picture and thanks for sharing about Foxworthy stacking chairs--I knew I liked that guy

Makes you wonder what kind of conversation two chairs would have during a rainstorm? :D

Ha, ha I was going to say what G said. I wonder what the 2 benches were talking about! Great minds think alike!

Beautiful benches. I love parks in the rain!

Gingerbread latte?? I need to order one of those! I like their pumpkin and eggnog, too.

As for Jeff Foxworthy, how cool is that? What a great guy!

That sounds like a day to stay in. The wind was up here last night, too. I hope you had a good day.

Sage -

My dad always liked him and a co-worker (now deceased) was roommates in technical school with his father - so there is something of a personal connection. I was glad to hear this story, too.

G -

Probably that it was nice to have a break today sitters. :)

Joe -

You got it. :)

Ily -

I usually don't like flavored lattes, but this one was very good and not too sweet.

Mama Zen -

The taste of it that I had was divine. I wonder if you all will try it now?

Riot Kitty -

Let me know if you get one. :)

Isn't that a beautiful spot? I think we are having some dryness today. Yay. :)

Gingerbread anything is irresistible. I can understand you're giving in, Lynn -- but still, good for you that you stuck with your healthy-girl drink in the end. :)

Now I like Jeff Foxworthy even more! His Southern dictionary series is so hilarious.

I like that - my "healthy girl" drink. I sure do love that blast of caffeine I get from it. :)
