C is for Cardinals, Calendar, Colcannon & a bonus C

- Can you see him up there?  I was watering outside plants on Sunday morning and observed much Cardinal friskiness going on.  This one had been madly chasing a female Cardinal all over the place and stopped here to take a breather.  I guess she was playing hard to get.  :)  As always, click the photo to enlarge.

- This Calendar from the animal hospital has all the letters for the challenge mapped out for me. I like the calendar because it features client pets. Don't you love Louie's face?

- Making Colcannon to go along with a steak.  You can make cakes with the leftovers, too.  (I posted about that last week.)   Here's a link to Simply Recipes for both.  So good!

- And one last C thing - stopping into The Chocolate Bar that's near my doctor's office because I felt entitled to Chocolate.  But the chocolates in there look as if you could spend $100 quickly.  Another customer chose four beautiful pieces which went into a small custom box.  One of the pieces had gold leaf on the top.  He was taking it home to his lady friend and was delighted with the thought of that.

Four things that give me pleasure.  The "C" post for the A to Z Blogging Challenge.  Cheers!

Louie is adorable and your colcannon looks like my bubble and squeak (mashed potatoes, onion and cabbage fried up together).

I’m doing the A to Z Challenge too at A to Z of Nostalgia

Good Cardinal catch! I love that calender shot- Reminds me that I used to get animal ones every year from my dear Aunt who died a couple years ago. Plus more yummies-You're sure finding alot of things to fit in here! Good job

The "C's" are all great today and my favorite, of course, is the bonus C. Only I suggest you save your big dollars and just give me a dark chocolate Hershey's bar. (Especially that big baking bar!)

Don't they all. Women I mean, play hard to get, and the ones that don't, you don't want anyway. :D

The look on Louie's face is priceless! :D

Wow, a chocolate shop, exclusively. I don't think we have one as such here, but much chocolate can be bought in many spots.

I see you get Sundays off from posting. Except for the first one.

frisky birds around here too. must be spring fever!

I had the pleasure of listening to a cardinal sing last week. I hung out under the tree he/she was sitting in and listened to a call and response between "my" cardinal and another one a few trees away.

That doggie is so cute!

My husband got me some fancy chocolates this weekend. No gold leaf, but they do make a special one that has Pop Rocks inside!

You are rocking the challenge. I think it was you who showed me what Colcannon was. It so intrigued me I had to search for the Dutch equivalent. I found it here, http://stuffdutchpeoplelike.com/2012/01/20/stamppot/
Thanks for sharing. :)

I'm having fun with the A to Z challenge - I'm just having to do it ahead a little.

Granny Annie -

lol! I love Hershey's dark, too. :)

Joe -

Not all women, my friend. :)

And I think Louie is saying either, "Please, sir, I want some more." Or "Are you kidding me?" :)

It's taking it's toll on my regular blog hopping, but I'll catch up tomorrow. I was traveling all day today - finally home and exhausted. But I have D all ready to go.

Jannie -

I'm think that is more of a date place - it's was a flickering candle kind of place with chocolate martinis and the like.

Scarlet -

Yay - I'm glad you are sticking with me through this. Loved your contest today. :)

Nutschell -

Try it and let me know if you like it - the potatoes alone are easy and delicious.

They seem so much more delicious if you can't have them, I'll bet.

So cute. They print this calendar every year that features client pets. Love the April featured photo of Louie.

Louie is adorable! I'm glad there's no Chocolate Bar in my neighborhood or I'd become a barfly! ;)

I have to start with the chocolate since I'm reading in reverse order. I love how you managed to cover both "C" and "D" using chocolate:~)

I love the picture of dog. It's like, "FEED ME. Whatcha thinking? I can't do it myself...You know you gotta remember the opposable thumb issue."

Great "C" challenge:~)
