Seaside, rooftop view and the excuse for going

- This trip began with a discussion several months ago during one of our Saturday walks, about a doing a 5K Run (in which we would walk) to benefit the school above.  And then this tidbit:  It would be at the beach and one of my weekend walking group has a house there (that is for rent all the time, except we could get it that weekend.)  I was in!

- I loved Seaside, Florida, with its brightly painted houses, just a few steps to the beach.  (This is not the house we stayed in, just one that caught my fancy.)

- Here's a rooftop view, across other rooftops, of the ocean.

- And we did that walk on Sunday.  I came in 783 out of 945.  OK with me.  :)  It was a lovely day and a lovely venue.

- This photo was borrowed from facebook - all others are mine - of the walk / run along scenic highway 30A.

- The best part - just being with friends, getting away and seeing lovely, lovely sights like this.

Your absence is excused. What a great report with lovely scenery photos. My place in the run/walk would have been 945:)

That looks gorgeous! I haven't been to that town. And if you walked and were still ahead of about 150 people, I think that's pretty good!

NICE sky/ beach shot!

And the view from where you stayed looks wonderful! And what a cute little town. Super you could get away, and participate in such an AWESOME cause. Bet you ate and wined well too? :)

Joe -

Thank you - we've finally caught up with each other, I think.

I did have a lovely time.

Betty -

Thank you - I am doing blog catch up this morning - was over at yours earlier. Lovely as always.

Granny Annie -

lol! No matter - we just do it, as they say. :)

Talon -

Yes - that late afternoon sun was gorgeous.

Riot Kitty -

It was featured in the film "The Truman Show." I need to go back and watch that now.

Jannie -

Oh yeah - there was good food. Loved the shrimp and grits at Stinkys. :)

Cloudia -

Ditto!

FB -

My bathroom is painted that color - so I had to snap that pic. :)

The Elephant's Child -

That doesn't seem like much of an underprivileged school, but it was a great excuse to go.

Snaggle -

I am lucky - thank you. Loved that walk on the beach.

Oh what some sunshine and sand wouldn't cure! (along with a 5K benefit) You were wise to jump in on this one. It looks gorgeous!

What a nice post! It was fun all around with friends, a good cause and the beach...what more could you want.

Seaside is beautiful. I've never stayed there, but have seen it. We usually stay at Cape San Blas. It doesn't have the amenities of Seaside, but it's a very pretty beach.

I'm so glad things worked out for this trip. I loved all the pictures, but the rooftop picture was my favorite:~)

I know - I was lucky to get in on that. I loved the trip.

Sara -

I had never been to that part of the Gulf - just St. George (which isn't too shabby either.)
