Homeward bound, cold snap and dessert

- 14th Street in midtown Atlanta on a temperature dropping Tuesday night - after volunteer work.  The buildings up ahead are so sparklingly beautiful that I just had to try the photo.  Not bad for a phone pic and I didn't crop out my car hood, because it tells part of the story.

- It's 28 degrees here this morning.  The guard at the building in which I volunteer and I talk about how neither of us mind cold weather really and don't enjoy hot weather at all.

- Shortbread cookies, half dipped in chocolate, for dessert after I got home.  Yummmmm.

It's 5 degrees F today here in the UK. Too cold for me!

I love that top photo you did well to capture the image with a phone.

I'm so comfortable in the country now that it is nice to be reminded of those drives during rush hour and how beautiful the city can be in the evening lights.

Our morning temps are in the 20's. Makes it a bit chilly to have to go out and care for the critters. Our days are a bit warmer still.

I need a reward of cookies dipped in chocolate!!!

That's a nice photo--it is amazing how our phones can take nice photos these days. I don't like the hot and don't mind the cold either. But it was 22 degrees according to the thermometer on my truck mirror as I drove home last night... That time of the year!

Love the photo - and the cooler weather. I find it so much easier (and more pleasant) to get warm than to cool down. Snuggling into bed, a mug of hot chocolate...

Joe -

That is pretty cold - too cold for me, too.

Thank you - I have the iPhone4s now, that I got for .99. It takes awesome photos.

Granny Annie -

I had a lot of time to get that one just right (it took 15 minutes to go half a block.) It also reminds me my car needs a good washing - you can see the spots on the windshield. :)

A perfect reward. :)

Sage -

It is that time of year. I don't mind it really - love the coziness.

Elephant's Child -

Same here! Love the fireplace, too.

Thank you. And I guess you don't get that much cold weather in LA.

They were good with some hot tea. :)

It has to get into the teens for me to pay attention to the cold these days.

Cool pic though.

Yum on the shortbread. One of my all-time favorite cookies. The chocolate is an awesome bonus. :)

Lee -

So interesting that you are having the opposite weather there.

Hilary -

It is so much more beautiful in person - it makes me think of the Emerald City in the Wizard of Oz.

Cheers to you!

Riot Kitty -

Brrr is right!

That's because you live in a cold weather place.

Snaggle -

Oh yeah - there was tea!

Talon -

I make shortbread - this makes me think I should be dipping it in chocolate.

And I just LOVE that photo! So pretty, just perfect with the reflections in your car hood -- a non-cropper, for sure. :)
