Through angel wings, wee visitors and to grandmother's house

- I love a fanlight doorway anyway, but the addition of these wooden angel wings make it exquisite.  Seen at the antiques shop where Whiskers (who now lives in the apartment upstairs) used to be.

- The owner is a kind woman who feeds the local strays.  Looks as if they have a warm box to sleep in, too.  That's friend Janice's hand, knocking on the glass so I could get their faces on my photo.  That tortoiseshell kitty just kept eating - oblivious.

- Over the river and through the wood...to grandmother's house we go!  I always associate that song with Thanksgiving and indeed, Wikipedia tells me that it was a Thanksgiving poem written by Lydia Maria Child in 1844.  It celebrated her memories of visiting her grandmother's house as a child.  What a wonderful time that must have been.

I was on a couple of sleigh-drawn rides in my life and they are something else! As long as it's not one totally freezing, it's a true blast. :)

How sweet that your friend helps out the cats like that, Lynn.

And the wings are really neat!

Love the fan-light and the wings, and the cats.
And would really, really like to ride in a sleigh.
Thanks Lynn - my heart is dreaming now...

It's always heartwarming to learn about the good, kind people in this world. Those cats are so lucky to have someone who cares for them. :)

The angel wings are a brilliant addition!
I love that song too. We once lived "over the river and through the woods" from my parents' house. I liked that I could sing the song and and have it be true : )

I love that Whiskers has a nice home upstairs now, and how really wonderful that those sear strays get some food to eat and a box to sleep in. A big heart understands these needs.
LOVE that sleigh----LOVE that Shop! And the wings on the entryway are perfection!

The wings on that door are really clever and look great.

Cute kitties too, how nice that someone is taking the time to care for them.

Do like the unique wing doorway idea! I had been feeding stays in the winter, but they disappeared a couple years back. Hope those kitties are staying warm thru this cold! You too-
I always want a pony to go with the sleigh- Have some jingle bells! Thanks for the info for Thanks week-

Forgive me for getting so far behind on your wonderful posts. All my computer problems have crippled me but I am attempting to recover. Love those angel wings at the entrance and it is not surprising that all strays are fed there. Do you ever get upstairs to visit Whiskers?

I love that the shop owner feeds the stray cats and also has a warm box for them:~) What a nice person.

I agree about the angel wings...very clever for that door. The picture made me smile.

I've never been on a sleigh ride and would love to experience it some day. I imagine hearing bells ringing on the horses as they move through the snow.

I would love to have wings on my front door!

Cute kitties. There is a shortage of outdoor cats in my neighbourhood, which is disappointing to me in one (selfish) way, but on the other hand I wouldn't want to see stray cats freezing in the middle of winter.
